Food Bank Volunteer Day - Reno/Sparks Chapter

"The Food Bank of Northern Nevada connects families and individuals to the food and resources they need to thrive. Working with more than 155 partner agencies and through direct service programs, we create opportunities for over 160,000 neighbors each month to access fresh, nourishing meals. This includes children, seniors, and others working toward brighter futures. What began as a small pantry has grown into a regional hub of hope. For more than 40 years, we have proudly served northern Nevada and the eastern Sierra in California. Last fiscal year, we provided over 21 million meals, fueling resilience and well-being across our communities."

We had so much fun sorting and boxing donations at the Food Bank last year, we decided to do it again!  If giving back to the local Commumity is your jam, this is a great way to volunteer a couple hours of your time.  And, we'll be done just in time to stop for lunch somewhere on the way home, where we’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have about Polka Dot Powerhouse membership!

If you have not previously volunteered at the Food Bank, there is a short online application that you will need to complete prior to our volunteer day.  Just click on the link below.  Please plan on wearing old, comfortable clothing that allow for a full range of motion.  Closed toed shoes are required in the warehouse.  Lockers are provided, but it is strongly suggested that you leave your valuables at home.
